Libraries vs green bins

The minutes of the Budget Council meeting of 17 February 2016 have now been approved.

Here is the official record of the debate and vote on Labour's proposal to allocate £230,000 to libraries in each of the next two financial years to offset the future cuts they face. The money would have come from not reducing the cost of the green bin subscription by 50p per month.

The proposal was defeated because 37 Conservative councillors voted it down.
